Galas, team offsites, holiday parties and client receptions: wording that sounds professional without sounding stiff.
A corporate invitation has to do two jobs at once: respect people’s time and still make the event sound worth attending. Copy the example that matches your event, swap in your company, venue and date, and send. RSVPs, dietary notes and plus-ones collect themselves on one dashboard, ready for the venue’s final-count call.

How should you word a corporate event invitation?
Whichever tone you choose, every corporate event invitation needs the same bones: who, what, when, where, and when to reply.
Purpose in the first line
Busy people decide in one sentence. Lead with why the event exists (an award, a launch, a thank-you) before any logistics.
Company as host, named in full
The organization hosts, so its name carries the invitation: “Meridian Labs cordially invites you…” For internal events, the team name works: “Join the product team.”
Be explicit about plus-ones
“You and a guest” or “this one’s just for the team”: either is fine, but silence guarantees awkward emails. Say the policy on the invitation.
Dress code and agenda beats
“Black-tie optional,” “business attire,” “festive encouraged,” plus the schedule beats that matter: doors, remarks, dinner. Guests plan arrivals around the program.
A firm RSVP date with a reason
Venues need final counts ten days out, so set replies two weeks ahead. Collecting dietary needs with the RSVP saves a second round of emails.
One link for everything
Parking, building access, agenda updates: keep them on the invitation page rather than a chain of follow-up emails. When details change, update once and every guest sees it.
Keep planning
Where the wording goes next: designs, guides and the rest of the library.
Wording etiquette for corporate event invitations, answered plainly.
How formal should a corporate event invitation be?
Match the event, not the org chart. A black-tie gala earns “cordially invites you”; a team happy hour reads better as “Q2 is done. First round’s on us.” The one constant is precision: exact times, exact address, exact RSVP date, whatever the register.
How do you handle plus-ones on a corporate invitation?
State the policy in the invitation itself: “you and a guest are invited” or “this event is for team members.” Never leave it implied. Guests will ask, one by one, forever. If guests are welcome, collect their names in the RSVP so badges and head counts stay accurate.
When should corporate event RSVPs be due?
Ten to fourteen days before the event. Caterers and venues typically lock final numbers about a week out, and you need margin to follow up with guests who have not replied. One-click reminders that go only to people who have not replied handle the chasing without a single awkward all-staff nudge.
Should a corporate invitation include the agenda?
The beats, yes; the full program, no. “Doors at 6:00, remarks at 7:00, dinner at 7:30” lets guests plan arrivals and exits like adults. A detailed minute-by-minute agenda belongs on the event page, where it can change without reprinting anything.
